Beyond the Farm

Talakadu hides more than most weekends will let you see

An ancient temple town buried under sand, a stretch of the Cauvery that turns gold at dusk, and a waterfall an hour's drive away. Most guests never leave the farm. The ones who do come back glad they did.

Village Walks

Sudhi or Ashwini will point you down the right path. Sugarcane fields, ragi being threshed in the open air, and the occasional roadside tea stall that asks no questions.

Mysore Palace

Mysore (Day Trip)

An hour each way. Palace, market, a meal at the Lalit. A long day from the farm, but doable if Mysore's already on your list.

Frequently asked

Before you book

  • How do we get there?

Drive. 130 km south of Bangalore down Kanakapura Road. About 2.5 hours. No ghat sections, no hairpin bends. The last stretch runs through sugarcane country. We can also help with a private cab from Bangalore or Mysore — write to us.

  • Is the food only vegetarian?

Yes. Vegetarian, organic, mostly grown on the farm itself. We don't serve meat, fish, or eggs. The food is a part of why people come back — most guests don't notice the absence.

  • Can we bring children?

Absolutely. The farm is safe and slow — kids spend most of their time outside chasing peacocks or watching cows. Children 5–10 stay at half rate, under-5 are complimentary. Up to two children under 10 with two adults is capped at ₹13,000/night.

  • Is alcohol allowed?

We don't serve alcohol and ask that guests don't bring any to the farm. The setting and the hosts' practice both ask for that.

  • Is there Wi-Fi? Phone signal?

Phone signal is reliable. Wi-Fi is available but slow on purpose. Plenty of guests work remotely from the farm; just don't expect to run a video call from the orchard.

  • How do we book?

Send a message on WhatsApp with your dates, the cottage you'd like, and number of guests. We confirm within a few hours. 100% advance to confirm; 50% refund if you cancel 10+ days prior.
